Stepinac Student from Yonkers Honored with Eisenhower Leadership Award

Ethan Bangari

Congratulation to Ethan Bangari of Yonkers, a junior at Stepinac High School, who was recently honored as the recipient of the prestigious Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award!

Annually, the United States Military Academy at West Point-sponsored award recognizes the nation’s outstanding high school juniors who have demonstrated exceptional performance in academics, athletics, community service, leadership and moral character.

The citation also promotes the values of national service as exemplified by Dwight D. Eisenhower, a graduate of West Point who during World War II served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force and led the successful Allied invasion of Normandy to defeat the Third Reich, 1944-45. He achieved the five-star rank of General of the Army. Eisenhower served as the nation’s 34th President for two terms, 1953-1961.
