Stepinac High School and White Plains Hospital Partner to Teach Life-Saving Hands-Only CPR Skills

Archbishop Stepinac High School is proud to partner with White Plains Hospital to provide essential hands-only CPR training sessions on Monday, February 10, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, as part of American Heart Month.

Four experienced nurses from White Plains Hospital will lead the training, equipping participants with life-saving skills. Each session will include six individuals, ensuring hands-on instruction and personalized guidance. Health Science students, student-athletes, faculty, and staff will take part in the training, reinforcing Stepinac’s commitment to health, safety, and community preparedness.

“Empowering our students and faculty with critical CPR skills not only enhances personal safety but also strengthens our school community,” said School Nurse, Lillian O’Grady. “We are grateful to White Plains Hospital for their expertise and dedication to American Heart Month.”

“With more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occurring outside of the hospital setting each year, knowing CPR can make a life-saving difference,” says Bernadette Amicucci, PhD, DNS, MBA, FNP-BC, CNE, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, Senior Director of Clinical Education at White Plains Hospital. “We are proud to share these critical skills with Stepinac students so that they have the skills and confidence to take quick action when needed.”

All media is invited to attend and cover this impactful event. Interviews with Stepinac representatives and White Plains Hospital nurses will be available upon request.

Stepinac High School remains dedicated to providing educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom, ensuring that students and staff are equipped with valuable life skills.
