State Police in Somers Find Handgun, Prescription Pills, During Traffic Stop

 On March 4, the Somers barracks-based New York State Police arrested 31-year-old Greenwood resident Andrew Mancuso on multiple weapons and substance charges.  

Troopers pulled over Mancuso in his 2008 Hyundai for a violation. A subsequent search of the vehicle found a handgun and dozens of pills of the prescription drug alprazolam. 

Mancuso was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, a class B misdemeanor. 

Mancuso’s bail was set at $10,000.
