Over 25 Pounds of Cocaine and up to $100,000 Cash Seized from Sports Bar in Bushwick, Brooklyn: Four Arrested

Firearm and high-end jewelry recovered in Queens and the Bronx

Four men were charged with participating in a narcotics trafficking operation that allegedly used a sports bar in Bushwick, Brooklyn as a stash location. A court-authorized search of the business, located at 1204 Halsey Street, resulted in the seizure of approximately 12 kilograms of cocaine (26 pounds) and up to $100,000 cash on November 14, 2025. One firearm and high-end jewelry worth approximately $100,000 were recovered in searches of two residences in Queens and the Bronx associated with the defendants.

Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan, Special Agent in Charge Towanda R. Thorne-James, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) New Jersey Field Division and New York City Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch announced the arrests of Daniel CAMARENO, Jose ACEVEDO, Adelfy ACEVEDO and Felipe LOPEZ following New York City Police Department (NYPD) laboratory analysis of the seized narcotics, which yielded positive results for cocaine.

All four defendants were stopped after leaving the sports bar late on November 13, 2025, and were arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court over the weekend. A criminal complaint filed by the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor (SNP) charges the four men with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree. Jose ACEVEDO also faces the charge of Criminal Possession of a Firearm. The investigation was conducted by the DEA’s New Jersey Field Division, the New York/New Jersey High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), SNP’s Investigators Unit, and the NYPD’s 25th Precinct Field Intelligence officers.

Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan said, “The arrests announced today demonstrate effective collaboration between local and federal authorities when joint investigations are supported by diligent investigation, patient surveillance, and court authorized searches. I commend the agents and investigators for their professionalism and thank them for seizing dangerous narcotics and a firearm.”

DEA New Jersey Special Agent in Charge Towanda R. Thorne-James said, “The arrest of these four defendants, and the seizure of a firearm and a significant amount of narcotics have made this community safer. The men and women of the DEA New Jersey Field Division and our law enforcement partners are committed to pursuing those who seek to push poison in our communities. We will work tirelessly to continue to put these traffickers out of business.”

“These defendants allegedly turned a sports bar into a stash house, storing significant amounts of narcotics, expensive jewelry, and a gun – and thanks to the members of the NYPD it is game over for this illegal operation,” said NYPD Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch. “These charges make one thing clear: there is no one better at uncovering and taking down drug traffickers than the NYPD. I want to thank our NYPD investigators, the DEA’s New Jersey Field Division, HIDTA, and the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for their collaboration in putting an end to this trafficking operation.”

As detailed in court documents, agents and officers with DEA New Jersey HIDTA Group 2 conducted surveillance at 1204 Halsey Street for over a month and observed the four defendants regularly visiting the sports bar, usually three or more times per week. The defendants allegedly remained for hours at a time and entered and exited with bags. The investigation revealed the bar occupies two stories at 1204 Halsey Street: the main floor and a basement-level room that was not publicly accessible

On November 13, 2025, agents observed CAMARANO, Jose ACEVEO, Adelfy ACEVEDO and LOPEZ inside the sports bar. All four men exited at various times between 11 and 11:40 p.m. Agents stopped the men and froze 1204 Halsey Street while they sought court authorization for a search warrant. When LOPEZ was stopped, agents found him in possession of keys that allegedly fit the door to the basement-level room at 1204 Halsey Street.

At approximately 4 p.m. on November 14, 2025, agents conducted a court-authorized search of 1204 Halsey Street. Inside the basement, they recovered nine brick-shaped packages of narcotics from a duffle bag underneath a bed and one brick-shaped package from a bookshelf. The packages proved to contain 12 kilograms of cocaine. Stacks of cash in bundles secured with rubber bands were found on a table and inside a shoebox in the basement. The table was surrounded by four chairs, with a money counting machine positioned nearby. When agents stopped Jose ACEVEDO at Halsey Street and Knickerbocker Avenue at approximately 11:40 p.m. on November 13, 2025, he allegedly possessed a large sum of cash bundled in a similar manner to the cash in the basement.

A search of a two-bedroom residence occupied by Jose ACEVEDO at 89-22 Rutledge Avenue in Glendale, Queens resulted in the seizure of a 380 caliber Smith & Wesson pistol from a bedroom allegedly occupied by Jose ACEVEDO. During a search CAMARENO’s alleged residence at 445 Gerard Avenue in Mott Haven in the Bronx, agents found ledgers containing inventories and prices for narcotics. A speaker had allegedly been outfitted with a hidden compartment that concealed approximately $100,000 in jewelry.

Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan thanked Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, and commended SNP’s Special Investigations Bureau and Investigators Unit, DEA New Jersey Field Division, the NYPD’s 25th Precinct Field Intelligence officers and New York/New Jersey HIDTA for their work on the investigation.
