ShopRite Partners with Yonkers Elected’s to Help Bag Hunger

L-R-Mayor Mike Spano, Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Councilwoman Tasha Diaz, help ShopRite bag hunger

September is Hunger Action Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to fight food insecurity in our communities. To support this important cause, my colleagues and I teamed up with the amazing folks at @shopritestores at Greenway Plaza to participate in their annual “Help Bag Hunger” campaign. Together, we’re making a difference, one bag at a time!

And #TeamShopRite of Tuckahoe Road celebrated #HelpBagHungerDay with honorary guests who helped pack groceries and accepted gracious donations to continue the fight against hunger in our community.

A special thanks to our team of volunteers for helping support our neighbors in need including Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, the Yonkers Police Department, Local 628 Fire Department, Feeding Westchester, Restoring Life of Tabernacle Church, Ability Beyond, Resurrection Deliverance Church, and other partner organizations who came out in support. We appreciate you!

This was one of the many events that took place throughout the month of September to raise awareness for ShopRite Partners In Caring. All proceeds are distributed to local food pantries.

ShopRite on Tuckahoe Road has been our Number 1 drop location for Yonkers Rising for many years. We thank our friends at ShopRite for allowing us to share the news with your customers.
