On Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 3:00PM, the Parish of Sacred Heart and Lady of Pompeii will present the beloved Service of Lessons and Carols, based on a long choral tradition of King’s College, Cambridge England. Singers of all levels are invited to sing with the choir; the dress rehearsal is on Sunday, December 17, at 1 pm.
The beautiful service will be led by Reverend Christopher Monturo, Pastor at Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Pompeii Parish and Dr. Sándor Szabó, conductor. Dr. Szabóis active as conductor, organist, pianist and harpsichordist in many major concert halls and churches throughout Europe, Asia, Canada and the United States. He presently serves as Director of Music, Principal Organist and Choirmaster at Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Pompeii Parish and Music Director of Oratorio Society of New Jersey.
The Service will include well-known carols and solos inspired by Christmas from around the world sung by the adult choir, Cherub Choir and accompanied by organ, piano, brass, strings, bells and percussion. Free admission, donations to support the music ministry are welcome.
