Senator Shelley Mayer said, “Each new school year brings much excitement for students and teachers. It marks the start of a new beginning and endless opportunities to learn and grow. It is critically important that students and teachers have the school supplies they need to set them up for a successful school year. Unfortunately, school supplies are often too expensive for many of our neighbors. If you are able, I encourage you to donate any item that you can. I am grateful to my partners at United Way of Westchester and Putnam for recognizing this need and once again co-sponsoring a drive with me to help students and teachers have the resources they need to start the school year off strong. I am deeply appreciative of the generosity of our community.
President & CEO, Tom Gabriel, said, “We appreciate the continued partnership with Senator Mayer’s office and her commitment to alleviating the financial burden incurred by families as students head back to school.”
