Today, almost 18 years after stepping away from the Senate chamber, Spano continues to pursue what he does best, championing the causes closest to his heart, particularly advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities.
In the years since leaving public office, Spano’s passion for supporting vulnerable communities has only deepened. His advocacy is not just a professional commitment but a deeply personal one, rooted in his desire to create a world where people with developmental disabilities are included and celebrated for their unique talents and contributions.
Through Operation Santa Claus, Senator Spano has raised thousands of dollars to help organizations provide adaptive equipment for those with developmental disabilities. However, he emphasizes that this work is not possible without the support of people like you. Your support is crucial in providing job training, community integration, and social opportunities for individuals with disabilities, helping to break down barriers and empower participants to lead fulfilling, independent lives.
