Scared by the Sound Returns to Playland Oct 10

More screams, more scares and more shadows lurking in the dark!

Playland Park is set to transform once again into Westchester’s ultimate haunted destination as Scared by the Sound returns Friday, Oct. 10. Guests can expect terrifying thrills, haunted walkthroughs, and spooky surprises as the region’s premier Halloween attraction makes its highly anticipated comeback.

The 12,000 square feet of pure, nightmare fuel, featuring a cast of ghouls around every corner, will be open Fridays through Sundays in October, with the final three days of the season taking place Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 30 through Nov. 1. For families and younger guests who prefer a less frightening visit, a special matinée showing will be offered on Sunday, October 19, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., with toned-down scares and more lighthearted Halloween fun. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased for specific time slot.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “Playland Park is synonymous with summer, but this year, I’m excited to welcome back Scared by the Sound, and give thrill-seekers across Westchester the chance to experience spine-chilling scares and unforgettable Halloween fun. After a few years away, it’s thrilling to see this iconic event return to its rightful home.”

Westchester County Parks Commissioner, Kathy O’Connor said: “Playland has long been a cornerstone of the Westchester County Parks Department, offering memorable experiences that bring the community together. Special events like Scared by the Sound show how the park continues to create unique experiences while honoring its rich traditions.”

Scared by the Sound Creator, Pat Costello said: “We’re both thrilled and excited that Scared by the Sound is back at Playland Park where it all started in 2000. We have a lot of scary surprises in store this Halloween season, so purchase your tickets today so you don’t miss out!”
