Swimmers Can Dive into the 100th Anniversary of Saxon Woods Park

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Saxon Woods Park, the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation is launching a special 100-Lap Challenge at the Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains. The friendly competition kicks off on Saturday, June 28, and swimmers will have until Wednesday, July 30 to complete all 100 laps at the pool.

Registration opens Saturday, June 28 and the event will launch with a festive Family Fun Day at the pool. Participation in the challenge is free; pool admission fees and Westchester County residency rules apply.

County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “This summer marks a major milestone for one of our most beloved parks. The 100-Lap Challenge is a fun and healthy way to honor Saxon Woods’ past while making new memories for the future.”

Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor, said: “We’re thrilled to bring the community together in such an active way to celebrate a century of Saxon Woods Park. Whether you’re a seasoned swimmer or just want a fun goal for the summer, this challenge is for you.”

Residents are encouraged to take part and track their laps online throughout the challenge. Those who complete it will be recognized and earn merch during an awards ceremony at Saxon Woods Park’s Family Movie Night on Friday, August 2.
