Ridge Hill is excited to announce the winners of Branches of Joy, their first-everholiday tree decorating contest involving 22 community partners working to raise money and bring cheer this season! After garnering a total of 7,535 votes, exceeding the initial goal of 5,000 for this event, Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Troop 2945 has won first place in the contest. Additionally, Ridge Hill recognizes Yonkers Paddling & Rowing Club for the “Bright Idea” Creativity Award and Scouts BSA Troop & Pack 47 for collecting the most donations for Feeding Westchester.

The winners of this competition have not only been awarded an enviable trophy and a package of treats from Ridge Hill’s shops and restaurants, but they’ve raised money for a worthy cause. Ridge Hill recognizes the struggle that too many community members are facing right now to put food on the table. To combat this, they teamed up with Feeding Westchesterand donated $1 to the organization for each vote counted to help those facing food insecurity, which hit the goal of $5,000.

This unique competition included an interactive and safe outdoor activity of decorating trees, which also served to create a beautiful outdoor exhibit that guests can continue to visit throughout the rest of the holiday season. All decorations were handmade and tie back to the theme, Home for the Holidays andparticipating groups have been recognized for their support on Ridge Hill’s website and social media channels.

“A very special thank you to all of those that participated in our first year of Branches of Joy,” said Meghann Hongach, Marketing Director at Ridge Hill. “It’s been a pleasure to build this program with each and every one of you. We look forward to growing this program and making it a holiday tradition for years to come!”
