Rev. Christopher Monturo Named Pastor of Resurrection Parish in Rye

Transformational and visionary leader brings more than two decades of priestly service to the Resurrection community

The Church of the Resurrection announces the appointment of the Reverend Christopher Monturo as Pastor, effective September 1, 2026.

A priest of the Archdiocese of New York, Father Monturo brings extensive experience in parish leadership and pastoral ministry. He most recently served as Pastor of Sacred Heart/Our Lady of Pompeii Parish in Dobbs Ferry from 2019 to 2026. Previously, he led St. Anthony of Padua Parish in West Harrison from 2007 to 2019.

Known as a transformational and visionary leader, Father Monturo brings a collaborative approach to parish life, emphasizing strong community connections, active participation, and thriving parish ministries. His appointment offers an opportunity to build on Resurrection’s rich traditions while engaging parishioners of all ages in its future.

Father Monturo also serves as chaplain to several first responder organizations throughout Westchester County, providing spiritual support to those who protect and serve local communities.

Ordained at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in 2003, Father Monturo is a graduate of Iona College and holds theological degrees from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome and St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie. His ministry reflects a deep appreciation for worship, sacred music and the connections that unite a parish community.

Resurrection welcomes Father Monturo as the parish begins this new chapter in its life of faith, worship and service. Parishioners and neighbors are invited to join the community for Mass and participate in parish activities.
