Rest in Peace to American Country Singer, Philanthropist, and Literacy Advocate, Dolly Parton

Dolly has always understood the importance of fostering a love of reading in children. She launched the Imagination Library in 1995 under her nonprofit, The Dollywood Foundation, and it remains the world’s leading early childhood book-gifting program.

The program has gifted more than 300 million free books to children across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Ireland, strengthening children’s early literacy skills and family reading habits on a global scale.

“My dream has always been to help children love books and love learning, no matter where they live.” — Dolly Parton

Dolly’s legacy lives on in all those who continue to carry out the mission of nourishing children’s love of reading.
