Over the past two years, American Water Resources’ protection programs have saved Yonkers’ residents more than $1.5 million in avoided repair costs since it partnered with the city in June 2017.
The City of Yonkers selected AWR as a partner to provide educational information on homeowner responsibility for service lines that run through their property. The partnership provides homeowners in Yonkers the option to enroll in AWR affordable protection programs for their water and sewer service lines, providing peace of mind from the aggravation and cost of service line repairs that are not typically covered by standard homeowners’ insurance.
“We are proud of our continued partnership with American Water Resources and what their program has been able to save our residents,” said Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.
With a 98 percent customer satisfaction rating, AWR customers in Yonkers are impressed with the overall service experience and timely response when handling an issue.
Henry Ramirez, Yonkers resident and AWR customer, recently received a Notice of Defect from the city and needed assistance quickly.
“I called American Water Resources when I received a NOD from the city and needed a repair fast since my neighbor was experiencing a sewer line break that was impacting my sewer line,” he said. “I wasn’t sure I would ever need to use my protection, but I was glad I had it since I had limited time to fix the issue. They fixed it fast and took care of all the logistics. I was glad I could get back to my family and had peace of mind that AWR had it covered.”
“We are grateful for the opportunity to help protect Yonkers homeowners from the financial burden and anxiety caused by costly, unexpected home repairs,” said Eric Palm, president of AWR.
Program enrollees receive support on their claims from American Water Resources’ established network of local, insured contractors; 24-hour support via a toll-free hotline; and a one-year warranty on all covered repairs with no forms to submit and no service fees or deductibles.
