Registration is Open for Westchester County Parks Summer Nature Camps

Our seven nature camps offer stimulating adventures that only Mother Nature can provide.

If this winter’s bitter temperatures are giving your children cabin fever, soothe their restlessness by signing them up for Westchester County Parks’ Nature Camps. The camps are the perfect choices for youngsters entering grades one through nine!

One and two-week sessions are offered beginning Monday, July 7, through Friday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Online registration is open. Fees are $175 to $350 per camper per week. Locations:

  • Cranberry Lake Preserve, North White Plains
  • Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Rye
  • Lenoir Nature Preserve, Yonkers
  • Marshlands Conservancy, Rye
  • Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “Our nature and environmental camps give children valuable experiences while encouraging independence, teamwork and problem-solving skills. They promote physical activity and creativity. The counselors at each camp love working with kids and helping them develop resilience, social skills and confidence.”

Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O’Connor said: “The camps are in stunning surroundings that enhance each child’s mental well-being, curiosity and lifelong appreciation for our environment. The kids have a blast and make new friends who they would otherwise not get to know.”

Campers can immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Westchester County through exciting, hands-on experiences at our nature centers. Each camp highlights various aspects of the outside world, introducing young explorers to animals, insects, plants and more. Every week offers a unique theme.

Additional Summer Nature Camps will be held at Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center in Yorktown Heights, and Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial in Katonah. Registration will open Tuesday, March 4 at noon.
