Philipse Manor Hall’s-Historian & A Movie to Discuss “Hello Dolly” April 5

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site and the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall are pleased to show “Hello, Dolly!” (1969, 148 mins) on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 7:00 PM at Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site, 29 Warburton Ave. Yonkers, NY.

Yonkers “half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder is looking for a wife. Famous matchmaker Dolly Levi is just the person to find him one. In “Hello, Dolly!” (rated G), hijinks ensue as everyone from the office clerk on up searches for love in Gilded Age New York! This big Hollywood musical features some on-location shooting in Westchester County.

Part of the “Historian & A Movie” series, City of Yonkers Historian Mary Hoar joins Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site museum interpreter David Lucas analyze the historical accuracy of the film, as well as point out familiar on-location shots, and reveal movie trivia.

This program is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Registration is recommended, but not required. Show starts promptly at 7:00 p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m. Popcorn and punch provided by the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall.
