Petitions are in: Yonkers Democrat Party Submits Nearly 3,000 Signatures for Endorsed Candidates

The deadline to file petitions for candidate seeking to run for elected office in Yonkers, and in Westchester was March 25. On March 22, Yonkers Democratic Party Chair Tom Meier announced that the district leaders and candidates have concluded the signature gathering process. “Today we will prepare to file nearly 3,000 signatures 2707 citywide and another 100 from Bronxville for County Legislator Ruth Waler and 100 from Mt Vernon for County Legislator David Tubiolo.”

“With the constraints and fears of Covid 19, this is a fantastic number and much greater than we had hoped for!  We thank the Democrats of Yonkers for opening their doors when our district leaders and candidates knocked and for participating in this important process,” said Meier.

The endorsed candidates of the Yonkers Democratic Party, and the number of signatures submitted are:

City Council President-MIke Khader-2,707

Council Majority Leader Corazon Pineda-Isaac, 2nd District-946

Councilmember John Rubbo, 4th district, 407
