About Peggy Murphy

Peggy Murphy was a schoolteacher at St. Mary’s School in Yonkers for over 20 years.

After her retirement, she became a member of the Yonkers Rotary.

As a Rotarian, she became an advocate to help school children have access to activities and resources.

Peggy wanted to make sure that students and teachers had the resources that they needed to get the job done.

She believed in the Rotarian ideal of service above self and wanted to give back to her community the best she could.

Sadly, her life’s work was cut short when she passed away on September 16, 2021 after a sudden illness.
