This week I was very happy to hear from the coach of the Palisades Prep Boys Basketball team Sean Stahn. The team is getting ready for the 2021 season which will start shortly. He was kind to send us a team report and roster. Thank you Coach Stahn for the information that you have sent to the Yonkers Rising. Here is the info from Coach Stahn.
The Palisade Prep Boys Basketball team is eagerly awaiting the start of the 2021 season. It has been almost a year since the team last played a game.
The team is led by senior guard Isaiah Bray, who averaged 20 points and 9 rebounds and was voted as an all-league and all-conference player during the 2019-2020 season. The team also returns senior forward Jalen Higgins who started every game last season.
The other returning seniors are guard Curtis Terry and forward Marvin Alexandre. Joining this veteran group of seniors is senior guard Yave Cruz, a transfer from Stepinac in White Plains, NY.
This senior group has a lot of playing experience, winning the 2019 Yonkers City Title. Beyond experience this group has good size and athleticism for a school with a small student body. The combination of Isaiah Bray and Yave Cruz as impact players on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor should set the tone for the Phoenix.
Bolstering the group of seniors are returning players from the junior class, Deneli McIntosh and Chris Baez and from the sophomore class Jalen Brown, Xavier Merrill and Louis Martinez. The team also welcomes two freshman Miguel Gonzalez and Darnell Frazier.
