Pace Women’s Justice Center to Host Annual “Cocktails for a Cause” Fundraiser Amid Rising Domestic Violence Crisis

As domestic violence homicides continue to impact communities across Westchester County and the nation, Pace Women’s Justice Center (PWJC) invites the community to stand together against abuse at its annual Cocktails for a Cause fundraiser on Thursday, May 28, at Barley Beach House in Rye, New York.

The event raises critical funding for the Center’s free legal services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse. Research has shown that legal services are among the few resources proven to reduce future domestic violence and improve long-term safety for survivors, underscoring the importance of ensuring these critical resources remain available to individuals and families in crisis.

“Cocktails for a Cause has always been a celebration of community, and this year, showing up for one another matters more than ever,” said Cindy Kanusher, Esq., Executive Director of Pace Women’s Justice Center. “The recent domestic violence homicides we have witnessed nationally and here in Westchester are a heartbreaking reminder that survivor services are not a luxury; they are a lifeline. Supporting these resources is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in the safety and well-being of our children, families, and neighbors. On May 28th, we invite our community to join us not just for an evening of cocktails and connection, but to ensure victims and survivors have somewhere to turn when they need it most.”

After last year’s record-setting event, Cocktails for a Cause will again bring together supporters for a beachside evening featuring signature craft cocktails, dinner-by-the-bite, curated raffle prizes, and networking with local professionals, businesses, and community organizations.

Funds raised during the event will help Pace Women’s Justice Center continue serving more than 3,500 individuals in crisis across Westchester and Putnam Counties secure orders of protection, navigate family court, and take critical steps toward safety and stability each year.

The event is made possible through the generous support of sponsors:
