Ban lift effective immediately
On Dec. 2, the open fire ban placed on Westchester County Parks has been lifted, effective immediately, due to recent soaking rains that alleviated the dry conditions.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the National Weather Service both no longer have warnings issued for our area, and while Westchester County remains in drought conditions the fire danger has lessened.
Officials will closely follow conditions and take further action if needed.
