OCTOBER 25 PANEL DISCUSSION: “WHERE DO DONATED CLOTHES GO?”

On Friday, October 25, at Harrison Meadows Country Club, 123 North Street, Harrison, from 11:30-2pm, The Sharing Shelf, the nonprofit clothing bank serving Westchester County, will host a Fall Luncheon and Panel Discussion on the topic: “Where Do Donated Clothes Go? How Can We Donate Mindfully?” Participating panel members are experts based in Greater New York and serving communities in the region and beyond.

They will explore the journey of donated clothing, addressing common questions about how donations are used and what donors should consider when giving. While many people assume that donated clothes are distributed directly to those in need, it’s important to recognize that some nonprofit organizations sell these items to fund their programs. Both approaches have value, but understanding how each organization operates can help donors make more informed, intentional choices.

Participating in the panel discussion will be the following:

●       Deborah Blatt, Executive Director of The Sharing Shelf (Port Chester, NY)

●       Dr. Audrey Brutus, Supervisor of Social Emotional Learning & Community Engagement, Public Schools of the Tarrytowns (Sleepy Hollow, NY)

●       Matt Fasciano, President and CEO of Delivering Good (New York City)

●       Dan Green, CEO and Co-Founder of Helpsy (Cherry Hill, NJ)

●       Lee Woodruff, journalist, bestselling author, and Co-Founder of the Bob Woodruff Foundation (moderator).
