The state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will hold public information meetings regarding planned improvements to Philipse Manor Hall in downtown Yonkers on April 27 and 28. Planned improvements, including new exhibits, interior and exterior restoration work and accessibility improvements, will make the facility more welcoming to visitors and expand the range of history presented at the Colonial era mansion.
The investment at Philipse Manor Hall is part of Governor Cuomo’s Our Whole History campaign; a commitment to expand on the overlooked and too often excluded histories of the state’s underrepresented populations. Coinciding with the planned building restoration and upgrades, State Parks staff will develop new and expanded exhibits for the site that incorporate African American and Indigenous people’s histories from the region, while preserving the known history of the Philipse family.
As part of the planning process, State Parks invites stakeholders and residents to review the proposal and provide feedback on the restoration and reinterpretation plan. The meetings will be held virtually on April 27 at 1pm and April 28 at 6pm. To register for one of the events, please

After May 8, the building will be closed to the public to prepare for and undertake building-wide upgrades. Exterior grounds will remain open.
