Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies Partner for DOVE Operation in Westchester

Another large-scale, multi-agency Drivers of Violence Enforcement (DOVE) operation was conducted earlier this month, targeting violent offenders, stolen vehicles, narcotics activity and quality-of-life crimes.

The operation included over 25 police departments from Westchester County, Putnam County and Fairfield County (CT), along with the New York City Police Department, New York State Police, and federal partners including the FBI. Operational coordination, communications and intelligence sharing were centrally managed through the Westchester–Putnam Real Time Crime Center (RTC), nabling seamless cross-jurisdictional collaboration.

Cumulative Operational Totals (Reported Activity):

• Total Motor Vehicle Stops: 231+

• Total Arrests: 27+

• Total Summonses: 70+

• Total Pursuits / Failure to Comply Incidents: 6-7 incidents

• Stolen Vehicles Recovered: Multiple across jurisdictions.

Key enforcement outcomes included: narcotics-related arrests, including for possession of crack cocaine and fentanyl; arrests for DWI and Vehicle & Traffic Law offenses; detention of two suspects wanted in an NYPD shooting investigation; warrant apprehensions, stolen vehicle recoveries, and successful mitigation of non-compliant drivers who fled from traffic stops. In addition, the operation resulted in actionable intelligence development related to gang activity and cross-jurisdictional criminal networks.
