MISSING YONKERS TEEN – EDWIN VALERIO JR

The family of Edwin Valerio writes, “On Sunday, July 2, 2023, our son Edwin Valerio Jr. went missing and we believe possibly abducted. Based on the information provided, it is believed that my son may have been lured by an online predator. YPD lost his trail two blocks away from our home.  He is 15 years old and has recently been suffering from depression and we sense that someone online took advantage of his vulnerability. Our family and friends fear for his safety.

“We are calling on our community to help us find our son. The Yonkers police have done what they can but unfortunately not fast enough.  Every moment that passes, we get further apart.  We are asking for anyone who may have surveillance cameras along South Broadway between Park Hill and Caryl Avenue to please review and look for images of our son; please share any pictures with timestamps of my son so we can further assist with this investigation and bring our son home.

“The current laws on missing children are extremely outdated. We are forced to ask for our community’s assistance because their help can actually lead to finding our son, Edwin Valerio Jr.  We ask that all media outlets come out to support and share to help bring awareness to the Mayor of Yonkers, the Yonkers Police Department, the Westchester County Executive and the NYS Governor, that our son matters.  Too much time has passed and not enough investigation by the YPD has been done.  Our son can be anywhere!

A press conference will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 12 p.m. @ Columbus Park on Park Hill & South Waverly Street in Yonkers, NY 10701. At that time, the family will be asking the community in the South Broadway neighborhood to check their street cameras and business security cameras.
