Also Robbed Good Samaritan Who Tried to Stop Attack in Yonkers
Paul Price repeatedly attacked his ex-girlfriend and robbed a Good Samaritan who sought to intervene.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced that a Connecticut man was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison on robbery charges following an August 2023 incident where he repeatedly attacked his ex-girlfriend, at one point causing her to lose consciousness.
D.A. Cacace said: “This merciless assault against a former partner highlights the everyday danger of domestic violence. Yesterday’s sentence is a sobering reminder that this type of violence can affect anyone, regardless of circumstance. Anyone experiencing violence from a current or former partner should reach out to my office or their local police department for assistance. We are committed to protecting the safety and privacy of domestic violence survivors.”
Paul Price, 41, of Torrington, Conn., pleaded guilty in December to Robbery in the Second Degree, for robbing a Good Samaritan, and Assault in the Second Degree, for attacking his ex-girlfriend in her apartment.
On Thursday, Westchester County Court Judge James McCarty sentenced Price to 10 years in prison on the robbery charge and seven years in prison on the assault charge, to run concurrently with the robbery charge.
In August 2023, Price went to his ex-girlfriend’s Yonkers workplace and directed her into her car. During the ride back to her apartment, Price struck her and then pulled her out of the car by her hair and slammed her to the concrete. At her apartment, he continued to strike her repeatedly and then choked her to unconsciousness.
The victim eventually managed to flee to a nearby mechanic. Price pursued her there and assaulted and robbed a Good Samaritan seeking to intervene.
During sentencing, prosecutors read aloud a victim impact statement from the domestic violence victim where she described the incident as “one of the worst days of my life.”
“I was physically, verbally, emotionally, and mentally assaulted by a menace to society,” the victim said.
DA Cacace commends the Yonkers Police Department and the DA’s High-Tech Unit for their thorough investigation of this incident and Assistant District Attorney Daniela Parra of the Domestic Violence Bureau for her effective prosecution of this case.
