Maria Regina HS Student from Yonkers Wins Honorable Mention in “You Can Make a Difference” Poster Contest

Alia Rabadi of Yonkers, a Maria Regina High School student, pictured above, was among a select group of 10 young artists from across the U.S. who earned Honorable Mention in The Christophers’ 35th Annual Poster Contest for High School Students, focused on the theme “You Can Make A Difference.”

In a letter Alia received from The Christophers announcing her win, she was told: “Your work was chosen from close to 300 posters submitted by students…Your work was noteworthy for its artistic merit, originality, effectiveness in conveying the theme. We hope your participation was inspiring and thought-provoking and that you will continue to develop and use your special gifts to help make the world a brighter place, one candle at a time.’

Alia received a $100 check for her poster (attached image), a collage of some of the notable student-led service programs of the renowned all-girls Catholic high school that help make a difference in the school’s communities.
