Congratulations Marilin Samuelian

Marilin Samuelian,an academically top performing student of Maria Regina High School (Class of ’25), has won the prestigious 2024 Gold Hispanic Heritage Foundation Youth Award for her excellence in advanced engineering studies.

In a short video she created that will be shown during the ceremony, Marilin speaks about the special year-long mentoring experience that provided her with the unique opportunity to explore in-depth a real-world engineering design project—the new power substation at JFK International Airport. She also relates how summer courses she took at Manhattan University broadened her knowledge about the chemical, mechanical and civil engineering topics.

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation founded the Youth Awards in 1998 to honor Latino high school seniors who excel in the classroom and community and for their excellence in various categories including: community service, education, engineering, entrepreneurship and business, green sustainability, healthcare and science, media and entertainment, public service and social justice, and technology.

After she graduates from the renowned all-girls Catholic high school, Marilin plans to further her studies in engineering at college.
