Present the Jack Coughlin Award & Other Community Service Recognitions
The Larchmont Mamaroneck & Port Chester/Rye Brook Lions recognized and honored over 50 community service groups at their January 12th Points of Light Celebration of Service at the Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck.
Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker was the keynote speaker. The event was attended by state, local, and Lions leaders and leaders of the many service groups being honored at the event.
The centerpiece was the presenting of the community service awards – the Lions Jack Coughlin Community Service Awards to Jason Summers of the Sandbox Theatre and Mamaroneck High School’s OCRA civics program. This award, named in memory of long time Lion and founder of Coughlin Insurance, Jack Coughlin, recognizes a group and an individual for outstanding and dedicated service to the Larchmont Mamaroneck community.
The LM & PC/RB Lions Community Service Award, which recognizes outstanding and dedicated service to the Port Chester/Rye Brook community, was given to Port Chester’s Carver Center.
The Lions also presented the Melvin Jones Fellow to LM Lions President Lina Pasquale. Named after the founder of Lions Clubs, the Lions International Foundation’s Melvin Jones Fellow is given to an individual in acknowledgement of dedicated humanitarian services.

The Points of Light celebration of community service is the primary fundraiser for the LM Lions Foundation – the 501c3 financial resource at the center LM Lions support of many of these service groups. Of importance is that the Foundation grows donated funds as seed money to attract matching grants and other partnerships to deliver more support for local and Lions service. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
