The LimeBike ride-sharing program in Yonkers has been a big hit, with 30,000 rides and
20,000 miles achieved in the first month. “Residents of Yonkers have clearly taken to Lime’s mobility solution because it’s affordable, reliable, convenient and fun,” said Gil Kazimirov, Lime’s New York general manager, who added that the company is considering
added more bikes in Yonkers.
The cost for LimeBike is $1 for 30 minutes, and can be paid for on your phone through an
app. The bikes must stay in Yonkers and can be left anywhere, but must be left off the roads and not blocking the sidewalk.
There have been few incidents of damage or theft of the bikes since the program has
started, and Yonkers residents of all ages can be seen throughout the city trying out the green bikes, including 94-year old Robert Thomas
