Law Enforcement Cracks Down on “Men of Business” Gang

But Who is Winning the War?

In 2021, the New York State Police, the Hudson Police Department and the Columbia County District Attorney’s office launched joint operation named “Men Outta Business,” which attempted to arrest and stop a drug operation in Columbia County and the City of Hudson by a number of men who called themselves “Men in Business” gang.

The “Men Outta Business” operation led to the arrest of 11 men in August 2021 for a number of crimes including drug sale, attempted murder, obstructing government adminstration, criminal possession of a weapon, and conspiracy in the performance of gang activity.

On July 5, 2022, the New York State police announced the arrest of John Grandinetti, 30, of Hudson for Felony sale of a controlled substance and felony Conspiracy. He was released with a return court date.

The cases of the 11 men arrested last year are still open. They are:

  • Larell Roberts, 29, of Hudson, charged with attempted murder, conspiracy
  • Kevron Lee, 28, of Columbiaville, charged with attempted murder, conspiracy, drug possession and sales, criminal possession of stolen property
  • Bruce Pigford, 30, of Greenport, charged with attempted murder and conspiracy
  • Joshua Wallace, 30, of Hudson, charged with attempted murder and conspiracy
  • Javone Coleman, 23, of Hudson, charged with attempted murder and conspiracy
  • Maurice Smith, 38, of Hudson, charged with weapon’s possession and criminal possession of stolen property
  • Anthony Price-Baynes, 27, of Hudson, charged with drug sales and possession
  • Kyjuan Hotaling, 18, of Hudson, charged with criminal sale and possession of drugs
  • Khalid Lord, 38, of Claverack, charged with drug sales
  • Kimberly Longe, 28, of Hudson, charged with drug sales and possession
  • Alexander Hall, 28, of Hudson, with drug possession, obstruction of governmental administration, and criminal tampering.
