Former Ohio Governor and two time Presidential candidate John Kasich’s name was tossed out by many Americans as a compromise candidate for Speaker of the House before Kevin McCarthy won election to become the 54th Speaker of the House after the 15th ballot on Jan. 6.
Kasich delivered three tweets on the subject. On Jan. 3, he tweeted, “A block of House Republicans should get together with Democrats to pick a speaker to run a coalition government, which will moderate the House and marginalize the extremists.“
On Jan. 4, Kasich tweeted, “Wouldn’t it be great for America if a block of Republicans and Democrats work together to pick a Speaker to run a coalition-style government? A coalition allows the House to create policy from the middle out rather than the extremes in.”
Those two tweets got a total of 8.6 million views, which Kasich said, points to a desire by the American people for both parties to come together, seek compromise, and work to solve the issues facing the USA.
Kasich appeared on the @Smerconish show on Jan. 5 and was asked by host Michael Smerconish if he was interested in becoming a compromise Speaker of the House. “It was great to join @Smerconish this morning on his SiriusXM show to talk about how Republicans in the House should rally around a candidate for Speaker that can win some Democrat support and govern more from the middle. It’s time to marginalize the extremes.”

It shows how unfortunately, Kasich and many others (including Smerconish) are people without a party. A third party movement will need a number of wealthy investors to plant the seeds in all 50 states, and “do the right thing for our country.”
Let’s start with the 2024 Presidential election and a third party Presidential ticket of John Kasich and Tulsi Gabbard.
