Over the past two years, Blue Door Art Center artist, Amanda Lynne has completed a series of nineteen mixed media pieces entitled “Wildlife.” The pieces depict endangered species of animals. The artist pledged to donate twenty-five percent of sales to wildlife conservation, specific to the animals depicted.

The works in the “Wildlife” series were created with the artist’s own hand-marbled papers. Using her own photographs as reference, these papers were cut and collaged to form the animal images, which were then placed in upcycled hand painted frames.

“Amanda’s work is charming and whimsical however, on closer inspection, the craftsmanship and attention to detail are incredible. We admire her commitment to animals and the environment.” said Blue Door Galley Director, Michele Amaro.

To date, eight of the nineteen pieces in the series have been sold, resulting in the artist’s donation of $800 to wildlife conservation, with half of these pieces being sold through Blue Door Art Center at 13 Riverdale, Ave in Yonkers, NY.
