Is Trump’s Accountant Going to Riker’s Island?

The news on August 18 that Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg pled guilty to tax fraud included an agreement that Weisselberg will plead guilty to all 15 tax evasion felony charges made by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, and that he will testify in the upcomng trial against the Trump Organization in October.

Not reported on is the fact that Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Manuel Merchan agreed to sentence Weisselberg to five months in jail following his testimony in the Trump Organization trial. That sentenced will be served at Riker’s Island.

Riker’s Island is frequently listed among the worst jails in the country, because of the violence, rape and abuse reported by the 10,000 inmates. Many gangs are said to be in control of the largest jail in NYC.

Harvey Weinstein is the last celebrity to spend time at Riker’s, which proves that someone like Weisselberg, 75, can be protected.

Criminal defense experts have guessed that Weisselberg will probably spend 100 days at Riker’s before he is eligible for early release. But can even do the 100 days without going crazy or without someone paying him a visit to punish him for his cooperation?

Or, does Weisselberg finally agree to hand former President Donald Trump on a silver platter to prosecutors, and avoid any jail time? The current agreement has Weisselberg agreeing to testify against the Trump Organization corporation, not against the man he has worked for more than 40 years for.

“Today Allen Weisselberg admitted in court that he used his position at the Trump Organization to bilk taxpayers and enrich himself. This plea agreement directly implicates the Trump Organization in a wide range of criminal activity and requires Weisselberg to provide invaluable testimony in the upcoming trial against the corporation. Furthermore, thanks to the incredibly hard work and dedication of the team prosecuting this case, Weisselberg will spend time behind bars. We look forward to proving our case in court against the Trump Organization,” said DA Bragg, who added that the investigation of both the Trump Organization and former President Trump, is ongoing. vc

Weisselberg must also pay the nearly $2 Million he improperly gained without paying taxes, including penalties and interest.
