We have the 29 year old woman in New Jersey who lied so she could become a high school student. We have the daily lies coming from George Santos. Though he has asked us for forgiveness, the lies coming from former Congresssman Anthony Weiner. Richard Blumenthal, United States Senator from Connecticut lying to us about his military service.
Is lying the new thing? A study came out that said as far as the American people are concerned, lying is par for the course with politicians and the American people. What’s wrong with us. And how long is this lying thing going to go on?
Who is to blame? Do we just take everything for granted and make up what we want? Does anybody check anything out anymore? Or do we take everything as it is?
I learned my lesson as Civil Service Administrator for the city of Yonkers. Before I joined. The. Civil Service administration, Candidates would fill out applications for jobs and no one would check them out. I came in and checked out the employment information on several candidates. Boy can people stretch out their background. In one case a candidate was a scanner scanning products for a supermarket instead of doing professional scanning work. I brought this to the attention of the Civil Service Commissioners, who took the candidates position and not mine. The commission said, ‘oh, he scans for A. & P , he goes to Iona, he has to be smart. ‘ There went a job that should have gone to a professional scanner to a supermarket scanner. Fortunately the individual has retired by now but the individual went up the civil service ranks doing who knows what damage along the way.
By the way, 8 out of 10 people want Santos to resign.
BYE BYE BABY, BBB and HARMON Closing
So they are closing all the Harmon and select Bed, Bath and Beyond stores including the one in Greenburgh. Ouch! What will the mail look like without the plethora of discount coupons. The coupons were getting sparse to begin with and they were putting all kinds of conditions on them (date, item use, product use etc.)
When I got my Atkins Chocolate Shakes and bars and Think bars and Skin products ( Arnicare) the coupons made a big deal. Then there was always the extra coupon that I some how found a way to use. We loved the coupons that were 20% off the whole purchase which gave a discount on all your items particularly after The holidays. Combine the coupons with good prices on the products and you could do very well.
As always someone picks up the slack. But in this case I think we will have to turn to Amazon as they have good prices and the products we want.
Aviation, Jets and Rails
Remember when the 747 was the big plane we all wanted to fly on. The last 747 flew it’s.final mission this week. Bigger planes are the story now. A new Brooklyn cruise Terminal opened. This week. And finally, money has been put aside for the rail tunnel under the Hudson River. This tunnel has long been promised to us by Governors ,Cuomo, Christie and their subordinates
but it never seemed to get built. The current terminal was damaged big time by.Hurricane Sandy but never repaired.
Molatov cocktail Tossed at Jersey Synagogue
Anti-semitism is alive and well and consists of a Molatov cocktail tossed at a New Jersey synagogue. Leaders in the community put up a $10,000 bond to catch this dangerous person. Hopefully they will lock him up and throw away the key.
Kangaroos
Kangaroo gloves for playing sports including kangaroo soccer cleats have taken on a Big popularity recently. The only thing is that there are man made products that don’t make us endanger these precious animals.
End Covid Emergency
If you haven’t got your supply of Covid test kids and your family hasn’t received shots, you better get them now while the government is still paying for them as soon the government is going to end the emergency and they will be yours to buy on the open market at prices controlled by the manufacturers. On another topic, there is an overload of Paxlovid,, the drug that lessons the Covid symptoms as subscribers are not offering the drug to their patients.

Happy 1st Anniversary to New York Times Wordle game.
Have you ever seen so many plane cancellations due to ice all over the country?
Yonkers got new fire trucks. We bless them and the safety of all of Those Who ride them!
In closing: Why was Yonkers so shocked about redistricting. Dr. Andy Beverage has been employed by the city every 10 years as long as I can remember to advise on the new district lines. He has done the work for the Democrats and I think for the Republicans on occasion.
Anthony Merante is running for Mayor on the Republican line. Pending nomination. As a parent of children in the Yonkers Public Schools he was aggressive fighting for more money for our schools. He got ‘taken in’ by the powers that be and voted most of the time at the direction of the mayor. Let’s see how he ‘floats’ in his candidacy for Mayor. It should be interesting!
