After an investigation by the Irvington Police Department, the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Narcotics Unit, and the New York State Police Canine Unit into drug sales in the Rivertowns. a warrant was executed on the Main Street residence of 30 year old Daniel White.
White was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell psilocybin Mushrooms over 25 mg), felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell cocaine), felony fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (possession of ketamine over 4000 mg), and three counts of felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, including MDMA (ecstasy).
After this successful police operation, the removal of drugs from the streets of one of the most affluent villages in Westchester, and the arrest of White for FIVE felonies, NO BAIL was demanded of White, who walked out of Irvington Village Court a free man, pending his return to court for his court date.
“Great work by the Greenburgh Drug and Alchol Task Force in getting a drug dealer off the streets of Irvington,” Irvington police posted on social media. “Their dedication to keeping our community safe is truly commendable.”
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch recently said that the state’s recent criminal-justice reforms created “a high-speed revolving door for recidivists.”
New York’s 2019 bail reform law eliminated cash bail for most misdemeanors and non-violent felonies, mandating release on recognizance or non-monetary conditions.
