About 75 members of Indivisible Yorktown held a protest outside of the Home Depot in Mohegan Lake at Dec. 20. Here is their message below.
ICE out of Home Depot!
Let’s unite and send a clear message to Home Depot that racial profiling and the kidnapping of our community members will not be tolerated. The objective: hold Home Depot accountable and encourage them to publicly condemn the ICE raids occurring near their stores.
Join fellow activists for a powerful rally along Route 6. After our rally, we’ll head into Home Depot, select an ice scraper or another inexpensive item, and make our purchase at the Professional/Contractor checkout. Then, we’ll return to the store to return the item at the Returns desk—this symbolic act has already made waves at Home Depots across the nation.
