International Game Technology (“IGT”), a global leader in gaming technology and innovation, today announced a donation of advanced technology to the Family Service Society of Yonkers (“FSSY”) as part of its global After School Advantage (“ASA”) program. This donation, which includes 15 Acer Gaming Laptops and a Pearington 20-Device Mobile Charging and Storage Cart, is poised to make a lasting impact on FSSY’s educational programs, enhancing learning opportunities for students in the Yonkers community.

The Family Service Society of Yonkers, a longstanding community organization dedicated to supporting youth and families, provides licensed after-school programs for students at sites across the Yonkers City School District. These programs focus on homework help, social and emotional support, arts instruction, and learning in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (“STEM”), along with recreational activities. IGT’s cutting-edge technology donation will equip Yonkers students with the educational tools and software necessary to develop digital literacy, academic proficiency, and essential critical thinking and problem-solving skills in an increasingly technology-driven world.

This contribution will not only enhance the physical resources available to students but also demonstrate IGT’s commitment to supporting educational equity and bridging the digital divide in underserved communities.

“Investing in our youth is investing in the future of Yonkers,” said Mayor Mike Spano“Thanks to IGT’s generous donation, students in our community will have access to the tools and technology they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Family Service Society of Yonkers continues to provide invaluable support for our families, and partnerships like this ensure that our young people have every opportunity to thrive.”
