Yonkers Rising and Yonkerstimes.com received the following response from ICE after Mayor Mike Spano and many Yonkers resident saw ICE agents in the City.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated,
“On November 1 and 3, ICE conducted an operation targeting known criminal illegal aliens who chose to commit a felony by illegally re-entering the U.S after previous removals. ICE arrested several illegal aliens in Yonkers and in Queens. Four were illegal re-entries and two had prior criminal convictions for driving under the influence.
Some more information on the illegal aliens arrested are below:
Jose Guaman Lliguicota, a criminal illegal alien from Ecuador, was previously removed. In addition to committing a felony by illegally re-entering the country, he was also convicted of driving under the influence.
Uriel Cruz-Cruz, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, was previously removed from the U.S. three times, committing a felony by illegally re-entering the U.S. for a fourth time in 2022. The Biden Administration RELEASED this illegal alien into our country.
Eduardo Arpi-Loja, a criminal illegal alien from Ecuador, was previously removed in 2019, and reentered which is a felony. His criminal history includes three prior arrests for driving under the influence.
Oscar Tomas Morales-Mejia, a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, was previously removed in 2021, he chose to commit a felony by re-entering the U.S, illegally in 2022 under the Biden Administration.”
