With its ongoing effort to maintain Sherwood House, the Yonkers Historical Society completed restoration of very significant elements of the exterior of the building in 2024.
The entire roof was completely restored to historical accuracy, as was the South façade of the building. In 2025, the Society will work on the next phase of work that will include rebuilding of the second-floor porch.
The completed work was funded by grants from the City of Yonkers, the Daughters of the American Revolution and by the generous donations of members and friends of the Yonkers Historical Society. With your continued support, these projects become possible to take on.
The Sherwood House Museum will reopen on Sunday, September 7, at the usual time, from 1-4 PM.
