Allison Gilbert’s Listen World! How the Intrepid Elsie Robinson Became America’s Most-Read Woman is the first biography of Elsie Robinson, the most influential newspaper columnist you’ve never heard of. Told in cinematic detail, Listen, World! is the inspiring story of a timeless maverick, capturing what it means to take a gamble on self-fulfillment and find freedom along the way. Gilbert is host of “Women Journalists of 9/11: Their Stories,” a 20-part documentary series produced in collaboration with the National September 11 Memorial & Museum

The Genius of Women by Janice Kaplan sets out to determine why the extraordinary work of so many women has been brushed aside. In The Genius of Women, you’ll learn how they ignored obstacles and broke down seemingly unshakable barriers. Widely known as a writer, magazine editor, and keynote speaker, Janice Kaplan is the author of fifteen books, including the New York Times bestseller The Gratitude Diaries.

Diamonds and Deadlines: A Tale of Greed, Deceit, and a Female Tycoon of the Gilded Age by Betsy Prioleau is the first major biography of the glamorous and scandalous Miriam Leslie—a titan of publishing and an unsung hero of women’s suffrage. Prioleau is an author and cultural historian. She received her PhD in American Literature at Duke University, then taught English and world literature at Manhattan College where she was a tenured associate professor.
