Happy New Year! You’re Busted for Selling Crack

On Jan. 1, Carmel Police in NY announced the arrest of two Mahopac residents, a 46-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman following a months-long investigation into the sale of crack cocaine from a residence on Union Valley Rd.

The case began in fall of 2025 after a Carmel PD patrol officer received a complaint during an unrelated call. Carmel Detectives quickly launched an investigation, partnering with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Westchester/Putnam FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

Investigators gathered a significant amount of evidence providing cause for search and arrest warrants. Both individuals were taken into custody on December 22, 2025, shortly after 4:00 PM.

Seized items included significant amounts of cash, quantities of narcotics consistent with crack cocaine, and paraphernalia associated with drug distribution. The pair face a combined 15 felony and 10 misdemeanor charges related to possession and sale of controlled substances. They were arraigned in Carmel Town Court; one was released pending future appearance, the other remanded to the Putnam County Jail pending a bail hearing.

Carmel PD thanks the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and FBI Safe Streets Task Force and especially the community for their assistance. Anyone with info on narcotics activity is urged to contact Carmel Police Detectives at 845-628-1300.
