Geraldo Rivera on the Air…in Cleveland?

Longtime Native New Yorker Geraldo Rivera, with his wife Erika Levy, now calls Cleveland home

We received the following email-letter from one of our readers:

Dear Dan:
If you want a centrist alternative in talk radio on weekday mornings, go on-line to WTAM, 1100 AM, between 9 and 10 am and listen to Geraldo Rivera in Cleveland (yes, Cleveland: he’s married to a woman from Cleveland (Erika Levy) and now lives there) or hear his podcasts any time.

Geraldo still has the fire and passion that made him an overnight sensation in New York television fifty years ago, and as a Republican who has been a personal friend of Donald Trump (and just about everyone else in the public eye, going back to John Lennon) but also often supports Democrats, he feels free to praise or criticize anyone on the left or right. This often elicits strong responses from his callers; I once was holding on to speak to him when a caller disparaged Geraldo and his wife and the exchange, which was not broadcast, was shall we say, feisty. Yes, you will hear occasional banter with sidekick Robb Bailey about local Cleveland sports teams, but this is a small price to pay to listen to a guy with whom we all became familiar even before we ever heard of Joe Biden or Donald Trump,” writes Mamaroneck resident James Vespe.

Geraldo enjoys living in Cleveland so much that he plans on staying there for the rest of his life. Earlier this year, rumors floated that Rivera was exploring a run for U.S. Senate in Ohio as a Republican, telling cleveland.com/The Plain Dealer that he thought he could run a campaign outside the normal bounds of politics.

Rivera, now 77 years old, (but looks great) in not seen on Fox News any more except for the occassional spot.

One amusing photo posted on his Twitter account in late 2020 had a Biden-Harris sign outside his mansion, in which Geraldo wrote his own sign which read, “wife only (for Biden), husband is undecided leaning towards president Trump but may vote for Kanye.”
