General and Mrs. Grant to Attend Opening Day at the Lincoln Depot Museum, Peekskill– April 25, 2026

The Lincoln Depot Museum kicks off its 2026 season with a visit from General Ulysses S. Grant, accompanied by Mrs. Grant, to discuss the life of the great general and our 18th President, as well as Grant’s relationship with cartoonist/illustrator Thomas Nast, to accompany a new exhibit of Civil War era illustrations at the museum. Grant was reported to have said that he owed his success to the Sword of Phil Sheridan and the Pen of Thomas Nast. Lincoln, as well, commended Nast and called him “our greatest recruiter.” Learn about them all, and meet the Grants, at the Lincoln Depot Museum on April 26, 2026. Program begins at 2:00 pm. The museum opens at 1:00 pm.
