Explore the captivating works created during Blue Door Art Center’s Rockefeller Community Arts Residency, opening Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at the Blue Door Art Center. The Exhibition aptly named TRIO, celebrates the work of three highly talented artists, Pradeep Gupta, Susan MacMurdy and Amanda Lynne. This exhibition features the works developed over a six month period in the light-filled art studio in the David E. Rockefeller Creative Arts Center. The artists spent two months each in Residency at the DR Centre in Tarrytown, New York. The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday June 15th and will run through July 13th 2024. “We are so excited to share this fabulous artwork with our community!” Michele Trommer Amaro, Gallery Director.
The Blue Door Art Centre, the host of the Trio exhibition, is the proud winner of ROCKEFELLER COMMUNITY ARTS RESIDENCY AWARD 2023/24 sponsored by Rockefeller Brothers Fund. The award included a $25,000 prize and six months use of their art studio at the DR Center. Yonkers residents were brought up to the beautiful Pocantico Center, once the Rockefeller estate, for number of art workshops, including; special needs adults, children, teens, adults and more. A sold-out, poetry and jazz concert by The Jazz and Poetry Choir Collective was part of the residency as well as the above mentioned residencies of Pradeep Gupta, Susan MacMurdy and Amanda Lynne, at The DR Center.
The Blue Door Art Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the arts to local communities in Yonkers and the surrounding area for over 20 years and is located at at 13 Riverdale Ave, Yonkers, NY 10701. Gallery Hours are: Thursdays and Fridays 3-6pm, and Saturdays 1-6 pm.
