On Monday, May 20, the Foundation for the Yonkers Public Library held its Spring Gala and welcomed best-selling author Sandra Cisneros, who gave an inspirational speech to the large group of attendees, who lent their support to the Yonkers Public Library and its foundation.
Proceeds from the event will support educational programming at the Yonkers Public Library’s three branches. Programs the Foundation hopes to support this year are enhancing teen spaces in all branches, developing a Homework Help program for high-school students, and expanding programming for the quickly growing young artist community at the Riverfront Art Gallery.
