On Sunday, November 14, at 3:00pm, The Sacred Heart Dobbs Ferry, 417 Broadway Dobbs Ferry NY will present an exciting concert with Sacred Heart Church Choir joined by guest choristers from surrounding communities and, under the inspirational leadership of Music Director, Dr. Sándor Szabó, will perform Fauré’s Requiem, his largest master-work. This amazing Requiem depicts the timelessness of human existence, the procession of generations, human longings, profound sorrow, fear of the unknown, as well as light, hope, the ultimate joys of heaven, and, above all, peace. The program will also include the passionate and poetic Second Piano Concerto byChopin with Dr. Szabó, at the piano. Scholars have likened Chopin’s melodies in the F Minor Concerto to the soaring lyricism of Vincenzo Bellini’s opera arias. Dr. Szabó has performed and conducted extensively in major concert halls and cathedrals in Europe, North America and Asia.
