Five Attorney Generals from Across the Country Coming to Westchester May 8

To Join NYAG James for Community Impact Hearing on Trump policies

New York Attorney General Letitia James is hosting a community impact hearing on May 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at SUNY Westchester Community College to hear from New Yorkers about the impact the Trump administration’s policies are having on their lives. Joined by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin, Attorney General James will provide an update on her office’s work to protect New Yorkers’ rights and uphold the rule of law.

Since January 20, Attorney General James and her fellow attorneys general have been cutting through the chaos of the Trump administration to defend critical services, maintain the benefits people rely on, and fight back against federal overreach. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has filed 12 lawsuits and 18 amicus briefs against the Trump administration to ensure all New Yorkers – and all Americans – are protected from the attacks being levied by the federal government.

New Yorkers who have been impacted by Trump administration service cuts, funding freezes, mass layoffs, and other harmful policies are encouraged to provide testimony and share their experiences with Attorney General James and her fellow attorneys general. Individuals who wish to provide oral testimony at the hearing must submit their written testimony online by 5:00 p.m. There is also an opportunity to submit questions for the attorneys general.
