The Yonkers Exchange Club welcomes its newest member Dr. Alfred Liotta who was the guest speaker at its previous meeting. He was sworn in by Judge Thomas Quinones. Liotta is the author of several books on teen grievance, the counselor for the Tuckahoe Police Department, and a counselor on cases of teen suicide with the Archdiocese of New York.
Liotta was recently inducted into the Westchester County Senior Hall of Fame for his record of lifetime community service. He is a professor at Mercy College and will soon conduct lectures in area schools.
The guest speaker at this meeting was Exchange Club member and Police Captain Bryant Pappas, who is the commanding officer of the Yonkers Police Department communication department. Pappas was recently honored at the Exchange Club Crime Prevention Dinner for his service and dedication. He spoke about the duties of the communication division, especially the responsibility of handling 911 calls and emergency situations .
Liotta presented a manual to Pappas titled “Teen Suicide Must Stop.”
