Enjoy John Jay Homestead While You’re Stuck at Home

founding father John Jay’s Katonah Homestead, still open for a look through or a walk

John Jay Homestead State Historic Site has launched new digital content you can enjoy from home. These fun, interactive activities allow you to experience history while historic house tours are suspended.

Learn more about the collection by exploring the “object of the day” or try to solve one of history’s mysteries by being an “object detective.” A virtual tour and downloadable worksheets are also available. More content will continue to be added. All this can be found at www.johnjayhomestead.org.

The grounds of John Jay Homestead are open to the public daily from sunrise to sunset.

John Jay Homestead State Historic Site is one of the six state historic sites and 12 parks administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation–Taconic Region. For more information on any of these recreation areas, call 518-474-0456 or visit www.nysparks.com, or connect on Facebook or follow on Twitter.

Editor’s note: All state and county parks are still open for all to enjoy. Get out and take a walk and bring a neighbor or a senior out for some fresh air, as well.
